More experienced travellers, who may have visited Tanzania before, will find that the southern region offers undiscovered territory. Nyerere Park, Ruaha, and Mikumi may be less well known, but they are certainly not less interesting. The south is more overgrown and distances seem longer, which sometimes creates the impression that wildlife herds are fewer and further apart. The exquisite landscape, however, is overwhelming. It is less densely populated, both in terms of locals and tourists, which adds to the sense of being an explorer.
