Driven by his love for the natural world, he pursued a degree in Zoology at a university in Texas, USA. Armed with a deep understanding of animal behavior and ecosystems, he returned to Tanzania to conduct research across various fields, contributing to the conservation efforts in his homeland.
With a shared vision between him and his wife Selma, they founded Makasa Safaris in 2010 and later established Kimbilio Camps in 2022. These ventures are the culmination of their passion for creating exceptional safari experiences that seamlessly blend adventure, luxury, and conservation. Each endeavor reflects their tireless commitment to sustainable tourism, ensuring that the wonders they showcase today will be preserved for generations to come.

Originally from the Netherlands, Selma Kamm's journey to Tanzania was set in motion by a desire to expand her horizons. In 2008, during her studies as a nurse, she ventured to Moshi, Tanzania for an internship. Little did she know that this trip would change the course of her life forever.
It was in Tanzania that Selma met Yohannes Ngomi Kamm. A year later Selma made the bold decision to move to Tanzania to embark on a new adventure with Ngomi, as they started their family and founded Makasa Safaris together. The young couple worked tirelessly, crafting the company from the ground up, from designing the website to actualizing their dream of providing exceptional safari experiences.
With her remarkable organizational skills and creative mind, Selma quickly became an integral part of the company's growth. Together with Ngomi, they nurtured Makasa Safaris from its inception in 2010 to the thriving safari company it is today. Selma's innate ability to connect with clients and understand their needs has made her the vital bridge between their home and their dream holiday in Tanzania.
Selma ensures that every aspect of a guest's safari experience is meticulously planned and executed to perfection. From crafting personalized itineraries to overseeing the smallest details, she ensures that each guest feels welcomed and cared for throughout their journey.
