Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara is a park that offers rich and diverse game viewing within a reasonably small area. From the thick ground-water forest found at the park entrance to the more arid acacia woodland in the south. It is one of the best areas for elephant viewing in Tanzania, close encounters are very common. The centerpiece of the park is its namesake: the lake which covers 70% of the park area. While spotting cats in Manyara is not so common due to the thick brush and heavily forested areas, game drives along the lake shore are rewarding and memorable because the wildlife is abundant and diverse. The birdlife here is exceptional.
